Belgian Chic is what I'd call Karin Draaijer's sculptural, yet human spaces.
For some of us, Belgium is synonymous with chocolate. That alone would do it for me. But then you add the fashion - the Antwerp Six, Martin Margiela, Veronique Branquinho and for architecture/interior design - Axel Vervoodt, Vincent Van Duysen and my latest favorite Karin Daaijer. How does so much artistic perfection come out of one country??
Are you sensing an entire month of "Tile Envy in Belgium" coming on?
For today I wanted to focus on Karin's elegant interiors. Karin's work is dramatic in it's simplicity mostly because her eye is so flawless and her use of color- drop dead gorgeous. Along with her color genius is her very modern use of antiques, creating spaces that are sculptural still lifes. I'll just let her work speak for itself-
