Lacroix became synonymous with fabulousness- back in the early nineties when AbFab was all the rage and Edina couldn't get her hands on enough of it. This week, Pattern Girl shares her own crush on all things Lacroix-
I was at the library the other day perusing the stacks for inspiration and I stumbled onto a book of Christian Lacroix's designs. It brought back memories of the 80's when I was in New York, going for it, not letting anything stand in my way of glamour, color and glitz. Christian Lacrroix is and always has been unapologetically glamorous and dramatic. This stance on not backing down and becoming mainstream is so inspiring to me right now. I am ready to get back on that glam train.
How come in the tile industry we have to bow down to mediocrity and drab colors. Why not dress our walls as wild and fabulously colorful as Lacroix dresses his ladies? Why have we stayed so safe with pattern and color? It is time to add a punch of color to our walls. A flame of "wow"!! no more playing it safe. It is time for glamour and the dramatic yet sophisticated to reign. It is time for a revolution!
