a9. Water colors - I started to watercolor in architecture school as a way to present my work and have never stopped as I love the way the softness and transparency of the medium is so evocative. I wish I had more time to devote to it.

and last but not least!

q. naturally, i must end this segment with one of my own things i can't live without – tile. remodelista has done a great job showcasing tiles from around the world. what have been some of your favorite tiles and why?

a. I am a big fan of encaustic tiles because I like the way the color is integral to the tile and not an applied glaze. I am drawn to the soft muted texture of the colors even when the colors are highly contrasted. I have been admiring Claesson Koivisto Rune’s Moroccan inspired ones for some time now. The custom color service you offer at Cle is beyond fantastic.
