looking to travel to lisbon in search of....
and a lot of this...
and this...
look no further than Areias do Seixo in Costa de Prata, Portugal.
eco-chic? i had to look it up. i assumed correctly, but these days with so many new monickers popping up , morphing, then becoming some obtuse version of what they used to relate- i just needed to be sure. so if it's ecologically sound while still managing to maintain it's hipness, that sounds perfect for Areias do Seixo.
the hotel is located just outside of lisbon and was designed around existing vegetation, utilized local driftwood in the interiors, heats itself with solar panels and geo-thermal something-or-others while taking the time to grow it's own lemongrass for their specialty spa tea.
but i'm fascinated with it for its funked up interiors using pebbled walls and cement floors- finishes that set the pace for an unyielding mix of furnishings and settings. already a classic with Conde Nast Traveler, there are 35 different rooms and 4 villas. i think i'd need to try each and every one whilst sipping the lemongrass tea.
