Get Delft!

09 May 2011

We meet the most interesting people at Tile Envy. Take for instance our newest acquaintance - Pete Matthews - a designer from the Amsterdam office of Frog Design. For you Tile Envy diehards, Pete Matthews was one of the finalists in Designboom's tile design contest hosted a few years ago. I know, I know, it was one of your favorite posts.

Last week, I got a very kind email from Pete who happens to have designed my favorite tile of that contest - the Nest Tile- check it out! I loooved the Nest Tile as I happen to be a big fan of birds and I thought this was a wonderful tile design with a lot of heart for those weary wee travelers.

After stumbling upon our blog, he was thoughtful enough to forward this brilliantly tile-ish piece of KLM marketing, just perfect for this week's post.

I was over-the-top for this one. Check out the video and let let us know if you got delft! We will post your delft tile entries on daily tile.

Pete was doubly kind and forwarded another tile design of his that I liked nearly as much as his Nest Tile even as (or because) it was Nest Tile's polar opposite. So now, I'm even more curious about our new tile pal, Pete, and have asked if he'd give me an opportunity to ask him all about himself in a separate interview. So stay tuned for a future visit with Pete, his other tile design and a look at his brief, but perhaps growing, tile legacy :)
