If you tuned in last week, you hopefully had a bit of fun determining your own current "design-personality" using Tilevera's list of 16 current home-decor lifestyle trends. It seems you did, because I received so many responses from all of you regarding this post.
Many of you reported that you enjoyed seeing your design tendencies illuminated. Some of you noted that we were missing some lifestyles.
What about Swedish Farmhouse, for instance?
Or my newest personal "fave" - Rough Luxe?
I could claim that Swedish Farmhouse can be derived through a combo of - "Loft and Shabby Chic" or
SWEDISH FARMHOUSE = LOFT + SHABBY CHIC.

+

And Rough Luxe could be my own current design-personality: "Loft - Shabby Chic - Glamor" or
ROUGH LUXE = LOFT + SHABBY CHIC + GLAMOR
Just add-
Of course, I believe the mystique of the Swedish Farmhouse style inspired much of what's great about Shabby Chic. And I think it's safe to say that there would be no Rough Luxe without an evolution of Loft mixed with a current fondness for contrast and an embrace of the classics.
This got me thinking more about the majority of your comments requesting a deeper look at each lifestyle. So I have decided that would be a fun idea- delving into each lifestyle a bit more just to see what's up with each of them. Then you all can tell me that I'm right on, or a bit right or left of the actual heart of each trend.
So starting this coming January 2010, I'll be reviewing a lifestyle each month throughout the year, and I'll be calling these exploration posts -
Get this look...
because firstly, I love using "... " (isn't it so full of possibilities?!), and secondly, I love it when a periodical shows you a particular look and then details how you, too, can realize it - head to toe. I'll mostly be having fun giving my design breakdown of each look, whilst I carefully maneuver us all back to my ever-nagging topic - tile.
So thank you all for staying posted:) and stay tuned for Tile Envy's first - Get this look... - which will feature the trend sweeping the nation...LOFT.
