I've always considered the Australian creative force to be a kind of unabashed exploration and invention that must come from a combination of classic Brit mixed with the free spirit of the Outback. Whatever it may be, I'm always uplifted by the brave new twist that seems to spring so naturally from their artistic vision.
Today, Tracy sends us word on the State of Design Festival that is happening in and around Melbourne between the 20th and the end of July. An annual event since 2004- State of Design Festival seeks to increase the awareness of the value of design and showcases how design generates innovation, promotes sustainability and adds value to business and society. Take that! It's government sponsored- which explains more of why the Aussies design with such an admirable lack of restraint. You would, too, if you knew you were being supported and celebrated!
