Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow was in Nashville working on a film. A few months ago her blog Goop.com included several posts filled with info regarding the best of Nashville. I've heard it's a great town with all the best that "country" has to offer.
Whilst staying in Nashville, Gwyneth was fortunate enough to have an entire loft set-up for her family nest. I liked the look that the designer/builder Annette Joseph put together on an apparent tight budget (it was an indie film).
Clearly, there's lots to ponder about that last paragraph. An entire loft finished just for a temporary stay?? And how does anyone do any of that on a tight budget?? I feel pretty confident about my penny-pinching ways but there's no way that my kind of tight budget could pull off this kind of expansive space.
What is almost more unbelievable than all that was the time-frame. Supposedly they went from bare to move-in in 10 days! Let's see what you think.
(great, great room)
(subway tiles from here to eternity)
(i could sleep here)
(a porcelain calacutta knock-off)
I liked the whole feel of the space; very light and airy. I loved the subway tiles covering the entire splash counter to ceiling in the kitchen. Good going, Annette! My favorite was the bathroom with the porcelain tiles looking like Calacutta. I think it's fine to do faux stone in a modern setting where tech products are a look in and of themselves. Here the mix with the concrete wall and modern tub is fitting for the space.
And I can't get enough of rimless shower enclosures. They're like glass cake globes - they make me want one in every room.
I thoroughly enjoy Gwyneth's blog- even as she wades through all the criticism of her unwitting guide through her larger-than-life world. We all love a good bed-time story.
