pushing boundaries...floored by ceilings

we've been tooling along this month, focused on current art that's pushing the boundaries - then boom - we get this explosion of attention for one of our own boundary-pushers, jacqueline moore, and her amazing wood tiles for hearst castle collection. congrats jacqueline, and especially for your feature coming out this saturday in the los angeles times! woo-hoo!!

today we take all that hearst castle energy and wrap it right back into our pushing boundaries month with a feature on an amazing collection of light fixtures from berlin-based design team, lightboys (jirko bannas and oliver seltmann). for a long time, i've been asking our friend, hoyt fields, the marvelous curator at hearst castle to create a special tour of all the ceilings in the castle. after seeing lightboys' latest ingenious fixtures- poor hoyt. he's going to be hearing from me all over again.
