for a while, i've been trying to craft a line of ceramics for clé that could represent the backbone of our classic series. the criteria- it had to be simple.
but if you know anything about design- simple, is rarely simple. in fact, to get simple "right" it takes a lot of trials, contemplation, more than a few failures and some iron-clad tenacity. throughout the journey, i've had to count to 10 a few times. for a couple of reasons.
so how to create a line of simple ceramics that has the ability to serve in a busy design office as the go-to ceramic tile source?? here was my fantasy checklist:
1) hand crafted - check.
2) made by the finest tile artisans - check.
3) made in the US of A - check.
4) available in a myriad of classic sizes - check.
5) also available in some fun, funky shapes- check.
6) glazed in a curated palette of "right-on"colors- check.
7) offered in two premier clay bodies- porcelain and stoneware- check.
8) hi-fired for strength & durability - check.
9) slow-crafted for that perfect imperfect look - check.
10) delivered in simple, straight-forward packaging - check.
our new line of ceramics, we call... simple ceramics is finally ready for it's prime debut! it's another one of my "things i love" and we hope you love it, too!!
