Tadao Ando

30 September 2010

I'm a big fan of Japanese architect, Tadao Ando. And even though he's known for his impeccably poured concrete structures- his modern art museum in Ft. Worth is a monumental glass structure. Stoic in the day and glowing at night, it's seated next to the Kimbell Art Museum, designed by Louis I. Kahn, and near the Amon Carter Museum created by Philip Johnson. Not bad company for all 3 architects.

I recently heard that Tom Ford has commissioned Ando to create a personal home and horse stables compound in Santa Fe. Between Tom Ford and Tadao Ando- that sounds like a design quasar!
