the tiles and tales of john whitmarsh, part II

15 March 2013

in our formidable gallery of world-class artists, john whitmarsh was one of the very first to have been invited to join our tile eboutique- clé. and since our launch last june, it's been an honor to witness john's remarkable surfaces being in daily demand by retail clients as well as the who's who of designers from around the world.

in yesterday's, part I, introduction to john whitmarsh, fun insights about john's tile collections came straight from the source- so to speak. amazingly, everyone who sees john's work is instantly intrigued by the look and feel of john's very tactile surfaces. he has been featured in an enviable collection of key editorials, as well as some very high profile (and top secret) upcoming commercial and residential projects. but nowhere has john, the artist, been better captured than in a recent interview by regina connell.

for today's part II segment, regina connell, editor in chief of the modern craft periodical - handful of salt paid a visit to the heart of one of the hippest sections of san francisco, brimming with techies, artists, hipsters, and of course- john whitmarsh.

regina has the same devotion to modern crafts as i have to tiles. it's a pleasure reading her online magazine, and now, her newly minted print magazine. click (here) to read regina's interview with john and to learn more about the artist, his craft and his artistic mind-set. you'll see instantly why handful of salt should be your go-to guide for handmade crafts and why john whitmarsh tiles should encompass at least one of the walls of your home!
